My midnight visitor was back last night – a huge white-tailed jackrabbit (prairie hare) that gambols in the snow and makes himself at home in my yard.
His latest tracks remind me of my own “path” – linear and predictable but every once in a while there is time out for a frolic or two.

I admit it- I can be a bit of a grinch from time to time but fir trees always remind me of the holiday season. (or at least celebrate the winter solstice)
And hokey as it sounds – poinsettias
What is most magical is that these objects are not buried beneath 3 feet of snow.
It’s mid-November in Canada!
17 centimetres of wet heavy snow sure transmogrified the landscape. (Hope these lilacs are resilient enough.) There are a multitude of great things about Canada but getting a heavy dose of winter in October isn’t one of them!
